I am a Kentucky girl at heart. I love the rolling hills, vibrant autumns, brilliant springs, humid summers, and dreary winters... so maybe not that last one! I have a passion for animals, singing, books, cooking and baking, exploring, and of course, my wonderful Kentuckian husband, Gerrit.
We are Air Force newlyweds, dropped into the middle of England, trying to start our life together. We have a spunky black cat named George who makes our everyday life a little bit more interesting. Be sure to check out his British daybook blog.
Together, Gerrit and I are learning how to be "big people" who do "big people stuff", how our marriage is going to evolve and grow, how to live together without furniture flyin', how to live life away from those we've always had for support and adjust to military life.
Our Jumping Bean
My 2010 Christmas surprise was this little miracle. We are so completely in love already and eagerly await the day our Jumping Bean will make their debut- hurry up and get here September 4, 2011!

goodbyes are the worst
I have said goodbye to my most wonderful husband until June 3.
No matter how many times you have to say it, it never gets any easier.
And you never miss them any less.
I'm so lucky, I will get to say goodbye to Gerrit, yet again, about 4 days after I get back from the states.
