More of Jumpin' Bean

Today I had the same scan done on base that I had done last night. Results were the same, of course, and they even measure the little guy the same. I'm pretty much going to go on that now and say I'm due August 31, which makes due date change #3 so hopefully it won't change anymore! I actually had to go twice because JB wasn't cooperating this morning. And when I went back after lunch, he was snoozin' away in the perfect position!

Here is the latest picture:
"Like Father, Like Baby"

Gerrit is known to sleep EXACTLY like this, with his arm/hand over his eyes, usually if there's a lot of light. I don't think my uterus is particularly bright and sunny inside but I guess its more genetic than I thought!

However, not all is good news today. JB is totally fine, don't worry! About half an hour ago, I received a call from one of the practitioners that the insurance the AF contracted is no longer paying for the Nuchal Scans. They found out last week but didn't bother to call and tell me until today.... THE DAY AFTER I HAD MY SCAN DONE! I now may have to pay out of pocket and *hope to be reimbursed* if they can't convince the new insurance that this is a necessary test. Said insurance company is basing all of its covered procedures on standards from - 1992 ! Get with the program- it's almost 20 years later! This wouldn't be half as aggravating if i hadn't just bought a plane ticket back to the states on Friday. Also, did I mention that the cost of this scan is about $500???

I am very annoyed, aggravated, upset, worried, angry, and pretty much everything you would be feeling if you were in my shoes.

Please send up a prayer that the new insurance will pick up the tab.

12 Weeks!

12 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 0 lbs, woohoo!

Maternity clothes? Not yet, sticking to a looser pair of jeans though.

Stretch marks? Nope, not yet

Sleep:Only when my bladder lets me!

Best moment this week:Getting to see Baby hiccuping and squirming all over the place during the ultrasound.

Movement: Nope, still too early.

Food cravings: Honestly, fries with ketchup and a diet coke (Sorry, Mom!).

Gender:Still a mystery.

Labor Signs:Absolutely not!

Belly Button in or out? Same as always

Wedding rings on or off? I don't where them at the gym but other than that, still wearing them as usual.

What I miss: It's a complete tie between sleeping through the night and the commissary deli sandwich.

What I am looking forward to: Feeling movement for the first time.

Weekly Wisdom: Don't drink a lot of liquid before you go to bed!

Milestones:Getting the fantastic results of my Nuchal Translucency Scan tonight!
It's actually very interesting- the gentleman who did my scan this evening, dated me at 12 weeks and 5 days with a due date of August 31 vs the Nurse Practitioner's estimate at 12 weeks and 1 day, due Sept 4. My gut feels like the British gent was more accurate but I guess we will just wait and see!

A New Year with Exciting News!

It is 2011 and what a year it is going to be! If you have checked out all my new edits, you will see a a new count down and the latest pictures of our soon-to-be addition to our little family. Yes, that's right folks. There's a baby on the way!!!

Our world was officially rocked on Christmas Eve morning. I was still late, even though the home pregnancy test a week before had been negative. We were traveling the next day to the states, to surprise (!) our families for the holiday so I figured I'd rather be safe than sorry and reaffirm that negative before the next day of hectic, transatlantic traveling. So after breakfast, I *did my thing* and waited . 3 minutes later....  "Gerrit.... come here...." -Gerrit comes upstairs- "Is..is...is that a line?" Barely there, but still there, was the | across the --. I, of course, couldn't believe that it was actually a positive. After our trip to the gym, we stopped to pick our a HPT that I could read whether it said positive or negative, rather than trying to decipher possible lines. Lo and behold, those two came up positive as well!

Not only did we get to surprise our families by showing up unexpectedly Christmas weekend, but also share the news of our newest little addition. Everyone has been so excited and supportive and just been completely wonderful with kind and heartfelt words and lots of advice. I only wish I could spend more time with my close friends and family during months between now and our little Jumping Bean's arrival.

I am currently 12 weeks as of this weekend and am due on September 4, 2011. I plan on keeping the blog at least weekly updated on how Jumping Bean and I are doing. Pictures to come!

28 more weeks to go!
