18 Weeks

18 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +4.0 lbs

Maternity clothes?Preferring the maternity pants but I'm still good on regular shirts.

Stretch marks? Nope, not yet

Sleep:Actually back to sleeping through most nights-woo!

Best moment this week: Movement!

Movement: Yep! It has begun! Mostly in the afternoon and evening- just little nudges and flutters.

Food cravings:Nothing in particular right now actually

Gender:Still a mystery....but I'm getting impatient!

Labor Signs:Absolutely not!

Belly Button in or out? Same as always

Wedding rings on or off? I don't where them at the gym but other than that, still wearing them as usual.

What I miss: I could go for some sushi... :(

What I am looking forward to: Gerrit getting feel the baby move :)

Weekly Wisdom: ... Sorry folks- I got nothing.

Milestones: Just getting through another week complication free :)

Looking about the same as I did last week. And I think last week's pictures may have been due to dinner and a funny camera angle. I still look more like I need to cut  back on my cookies that I look pregnant...

17 Weeks!

17 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  +4.0 lbs

Maternity clothes?I have been wearing my maternity pants just because my regular jeans push on the bump which is uncomfortable and almost painful at times. (And yes, it's totally okay for my uterus to be tender so no worries there.)

Stretch marks? Nope, not yet

Sleep: Only getting up once a night to pee and some nights, i sleep all night!

Best moment this week:Hearing JB's heart beat at the drs!

Movement:Just feeling some random uterine twitches, nothing that I would consider baby movement.

Food cravings: Melon and sweets

Gender:Still a mystery....but I'm getting impatient!

Labor Signs:Absolutely not!

Belly Button in or out? Same as always

Wedding rings on or off? I don't where them at the gym but other than that, still wearing them as usual.

What I miss: Hands down, its a big yummy deli sandwich from the commissary :(

What I am looking forward to: Feeling movement for the first time and finding out if its a little girl or a little boy!

Weekly Wisdom: Pee before you leave the house. And at your destination when you arrive ;)

Milestones: Just getting through another week complication free :)

JB and I have had another great week, especially now that we have this silly sinus infection under control thanks to the wonderful invention of antibiotics. My belly is finally starting to pop as you can see in the picture, though I think the camera angle made it look a little bigger than it actually is. Oh well, I do what I can when there's no photographer around. I can officially make an appointment for the anatomy scan on April 1 so I'm hoping to snag one on May 1! So ready to know already!

16 Weeks!

16 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I only use the dr's scale so we'll know on Friday, though I may or may not tell you the damage!  ;)

Maternity clothes?I have actually worn two pairs of maternity pants just because they were comfy and the first thing I could grab- not because my other didn't fit.

Stretch marks? Nope, not yet

Sleep:Still getting up in the night due to my expanding uterus pushing on my poor bladder (and I will be for a few more months)

Best moment this week:Sunshine! though that is totally unbaby related

Movement:Not sure if it was movement, but about two days ago, I was dozing after I first woke up and was completely jerked awake when I felt *something* happening with my uterus. Coulda been JB, coulda not.

Food cravings: Honeydew melon- it was on sale and I'm loving it!

JB and I have had a great week, not counting the cold I have come down with. He got spoiled with lots of awesome food over my birthday weekend, and I'm just sure he was jamming to the music during Les Miserables on on Saturday night! (Read "he" as baby- its an arbitrary term until we now for sure ;) )

While I am feeling oh so much better, pregnancy wise, I have had some personal issues with my "bump". Though its not really a baby bump quite yet, it looks more like I just need to lay off the cookies and hit the gym. I have always struggled with my self image and had actually lost weight this Fall that I had gained since the summer. Now I look and feel like that was all in vain. My jeans still fit, though I'm not sure how. And when I sit down, it feels like the 'bump' is just the beginnings of a tire around my middle. It's just hard for me when I am at the gym and can "hear" people thinking that I should lay off the cookies, and I just want to scream "It's a baby- not too many cookies!" Hopefully, one morning I will wake up and it will have gone from cookie-tire to baby-bump.
On a better note, 16 week appt coming up this Friday! Just 2 more days!

I Want! I Want!

I absolutely love little baby hats and beanies. My husband wears a beanie whenever he can get away with it so I think it fitting that our little JB wear 'em too! Here are a few that I love! And that I also thought could be gender neutral-ish.

Bad lighting- it's orange and cream :)

So cute! I want them all! I found all of these on etsy.com. Oh and if you ever see matching beanies for say, daddy and baby, please do direct me to them! <- Matching beanies was the hub's idea!

Stretch marks? Nope, not yet

Sleep:Still getting up in the night due to my expanding uterus pushing on my poor bladder (and I will be for a few more months)

Best moment this week:Sunshine! though that is totally unbaby related

Movement: Not yet but I'm hoping JB will start wiggling soon!

Food cravings:Carrots and ranch!

Gender:Still a mystery.

Labor Signs:Absolutely not!

Belly Button in or out? Same as always

Pretty good week overall. I've had some discomfort/pain when pressure is applied to my "bump". It's not constant but its more frequent that I like. I'm hoping my uterus is just stretching. If I gets any worse tonight, I am going to call first thing in the morning to talk to the nurse. Better safe than sorry! 16 week appt next Friday! And my birthday on FRIDAY!

**Added Friday- no pictures this week but I definitely have a bump when I'm laying down- twas sort of lopsided to the right this morning!**

Spoiled before birth!

Sweet Baby Jumping Bean isn't even close to being born and his very awesome and sweet grandma is already sending boxes of goodies!  She's sent baby silverware and Sleep Sheep, one for home and one for travel. Big Brother George already has tried to go for the little sheep so they are safely tucked in their packaging until JB arrives. She also sent lots a box of little clothes, blankets, a hooded towel, wash clothes and some little bitty socks! The clothes are absolutely adorable, and yes, I got teary eyed over a blanket. Aaah, gotta love the pregnancy hormones! Enjoy the pictures!

The photo uploader does not like the duckie towel picture but I think you get the idea!   :)

Our start to JB's stuff

We have already begun to purchase all that gazillion items that babies tend to require.

My first find, and purchase, was a dark wood baby dresser/changing table. The crib that I like at the base furniture store does not come with any other pieces- just a solo crib. I thought, "I am never going to find a changing table that I like to go with it!" I DO NOT like white furniture, plastic furniture, pine, or lighter wood. In my search for baby paraphernalia, I am learning just how picky I really am. But here is JB's dresser/changing table that is already being put to use!
I didn't realize just how big furniture will be in our second bedroom. Between this and the next purchase, the room is already looking rather full. And there's not even a crib yet!

Our second purchase was a stroller/car seat/travel bassinet combo. I had tried out the strollers at the base store and liked the Graco brand the best. The problem was that Gerrit and I both drive UK spec vehicles. Law requires us to use UK spec car seats rather than US spec. I had also checked out what the Cambridge Babys'R'Us had available. There was nothing wrong with their selection other than we would be paying £150 to £200 for a car seat and stroller combo (between $250 and $400)! Being as budget conscious as I am, I hunted up a great bargain and saved at least $150-200 on this 4 piece set.
Above is the stroller with the cozy bundling bag thing and to the right is the car seat and the bassinet that attaches inside of the stroller  when the it is in the reclining position. The bassinet is actually sitting on the base that goes in the car for the seat to attach to but for the picture, the seat would have been facing the wrong way. The fabric is a soft brown and cream suede and the head rest thing and parts of the stroller are a brown/cream plaid- these didn't show up very well in the pictures. The stroller also came with the attachable rain cover but it's out of sight in the stroller basket.

Half way through this post, I realized that the very very VERY first items we bought for JB were these:
I had been obsessed with the JellyCat stuffed animals since the first time I felt on in a Cambridge store. They are sooooooo soft. We made a trip there just to snag this adorable little bunny. My husband, if you know him, is obsessed with beanies. I thought it only fitting that our baby have one too! The bunny wears it so it doesn't get lost. Both reside at the very top of our bookshelf so Big Brother George cannot play with/attack/chew/carry around/kill him before JB is even here. The big eyed bull is courtesy of Gerrit when he was in Sardinia for a few weeks. He just could resist those big brown eyes!

Next post  to come is all the goodies JB's sweet grandma has already sent!

Oh, and if you are wondering where the 13 weeks post is, here's the scoop. My 12 Weeks post was actually done at almost 13 weeks if I go buy the Aug 31 due date, which I am. So I didn't really see a need to post a 13 weeks post 2 days after my 12 week one.

And yes, those are the same sweat pants as the last photos. What can I say? They are my fav!
