I am a Kentucky girl at heart. I love the rolling hills, vibrant autumns, brilliant springs, humid summers, and dreary winters... so maybe not that last one! I have a passion for animals, singing, books, cooking and baking, exploring, and of course, my wonderful Kentuckian husband, Gerrit.
We are Air Force newlyweds, dropped into the middle of England, trying to start our life together. We have a spunky black cat named George who makes our everyday life a little bit more interesting. Be sure to check out his British daybook blog.
Together, Gerrit and I are learning how to be "big people" who do "big people stuff", how our marriage is going to evolve and grow, how to live together without furniture flyin', how to live life away from those we've always had for support and adjust to military life.
Our Jumping Bean

37/38 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss:+29 by the doctor's scale
Maternity clothes? Of course
Stretch marks? Sadly yes, my hips and just a few under my big ole belly
Sleep:Only if I am on the couch
Best moment this week: Just getting to this point, oh and finally talking to an OB
Movement: Still moving but not as much as he was- guess he's getting smooshed!
Food cravings: Cheeseburger
Gender:BOY!
Labor Signs: Lots and lots and lots of contractions among other things
Belly Button in or out? It can do both in the same day
Wedding rings on or off? Off
What I miss: Not feeling HUGE. And sleeping.
What I am looking forward to: Meeting this little man!
Weekly Wisdom: I got nothing.
Milestones: FULL TERM!
I am so ready to for this baby to pop out, you have no idea- that is, unless you've had a baby- then you feel my pain. I have contractions every night and off and on during the day. So between those and unbelievable amounts of pelvic pressure and pain, I'm far away from being comfortable. We have our labor rehearsal class tonight- stinks that its only a single class, but I guess that is better than nothing! Oh, and my mom gets here in 6 days! Who will arrive first: my mom or the baby???

34 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss:+22 by the doctor's scale
Maternity clothes? All maternity except some tanks and my work out pants
Stretch marks? Just a single spot on each hip so far, knock on wood
Sleep: Yes, please. All the time. Hard to wake up every morning and I always want, but don't necessarily take, an afternoon nap
Best moment this week: Getting the baby book in the mail!
Movement: Tries to wiggle under my ribs and kicks me in the right side of the pelvis a lot
Food cravings: Cheetos.. I feel like this is really bad lol
Gender:BOY!
Labor Signs:Absolutely not!
Belly Button in or out?Pretty much flat, all the time
Wedding rings on or off? They started getting snug due to slight swelling in my hands so I only wear them for short periods of time.
What I miss: Not feeling HUGE.
What I am looking forward to: My husband coming home... and finishing the nursery!
Weekly Wisdom: Don't wish the short and sweet moments of pregnancy away, and seriously, don't eat too much salt! You will regret it!
Milestones: I am half way through the last trimester! Woo! Now to get through these last 6 weeks....
I have arrived at the conclusion that the reason the last 6 or so weeks take the longest is because you pretty much miss the first 4 to 6 weeks of pregnancy. Therefore, the last few count double! I am very much trying hard to not wish these last few weeks away. I know I will miss all the wiggles and kicks and jabs once he has arrived but I am so over feeling like a beached whale. Maybe it will help once Gerrit gets home and can help me out more. We shall see!
Maternity clothes? All maternity except some 2 tanks and my work out pants
Stretch marks? Not really... maybe a stretch spot on either side of my hips
Sleep: Yes, please. All the time. Hard to wake up every morning and I always want, but don't necessarily take, an afternoon nap
Best moment this week: Good check-up at the drs.
Movement: Tries to wiggle under my ribs and kicks me in the right side of the pelvis a lot
Food cravings: None really.
Gender:BOY!
Labor Signs:Absolutely not!
Belly Button in or out? Stretching/ flattening out. If I try and stretch it more, it starts turning into an outtie!
Wedding rings on or off? I don't where them at the gym but other than that, still wearing them as usual.
What I miss: Not feeling HUGE.
What I am looking forward to: My husband coming home...
Weekly Wisdom: Don't wish the short and sweet moments of pregnancy away
Milestones: I have made it 3/4 of the way through this pregnancy and I know that every day, if my sweet baby has to be brought into this world, he will have that much more of a fighting chance to survive.
Most people who read this are in Kentucky, where I was for about two and a half weeks- hence the hiatus in posting. This past week I have just been trying to readjust to being back in England. I, also, have been busy working on my baby gear list- the only things left to find are a diaper pail and a small table for the lamp, baby monitor, etc. I anxiously await the arrival of no fewer than 4 or 5 boxes from Amazon and Target. Maybe once those come in, I can actually start making the "extra room" look like a nursery. I apologize for the lack of picture. The only way to take a decent picture is with my phone in the locker room at the gym, and my phone is not cooperating with the internet in terms of posting a recent photos. Til next week sometime!
Oh and two sweet baby boys have been born this week, and it makes is oh so hard to wait another 9 before I will get to hold my own little one in my arms....
Maternity clothes? Pretty much maternity all around except for a few tank tops and my workout pants. And for real, I must be the only preggo in the world who HATES panel pants!
Stretch marks? Nope, not yet
Sleep: On and off. Some good nights and some not so good.
Best moment this week: Not baby related but realizing I get to go to Ky in less than 2 weeks!
Movement:He likes to ball up, wiggle to a new spot, and then ball up again- said balling up isn't the most comfortable feeling...
Food cravings: Fruit and meat. Not together.
What I am looking forward to: 3D/4D Ultrasound in just over 2 weeks!
Weekly Wisdom: Don't wish the short and sweet moments of pregnancy away
Milestones: I do believe I have just hit or am about to officially hit the Third Trimester!
We baby sat an infant over night this past weekend, and let me tell you, most people my age would say, "That was interesting! I am sooooo not ready." In all honesty, though, I am sooooo ready. It just confirmed how much I can't wait for my sweet boy to arrive. And seeing Gerrit holding her and trying to get her to sleep, no matter how uncomfortable a position it put him in, just absolutely melted my heart. He will absolutely be a fantastic dad, of that I have no doubt. Sadly, he will be leaving on a short deployment in the VERY near future- Gerrit, not the baby. I will miss him oh so much and hate for him to miss out on so much of my third trimester. Hopefully my trip back to Ky will help to pass the time and get my mind off of missin' him so dang much!
24/25 Weeks!
(Won't be doing a second post this week and missed the last few...)
Total weight gain/loss: At 24w5d, the verdict is +16...
Maternity clothes? Basically all maternity except for a few regular shirts
Stretch marks? Nope, not yet
Sleep:Waking up 2 or 3 times to pee and starting to find it hard to get comfy
Best moment this week: Finding out all the anatomy scan results were normal.
Movement: Lots of wiggling and kicking; he always gets a big burst of energy right before bed.
Food cravings: Nothing really in particular actually.
Gender:BOY!
Labor Signs:Absolutely not!
Belly Button in or out? Stretching/ flattening out. If I try and stretch it more, it starts turning into an outtie!
Wedding rings on or off? I don't where them at the gym but other than that, still wearing them as usual.
What I miss: Being my normal flexible self- pregnant woman are not meant to twist whatsoever!
What I am looking forward to: Is it too early to say "meeting my little man"?
Weekly Wisdom: Don't wish the short and sweet moments of pregnancy away
Milestones: Great/normal results on the anatomy scan!
We took a trip to Stone Henge and Bath this past weekend. It was fun but the walking everywhere was a struggle. I ached so much- feet, back, legs- and I'm still sore. It was quite frustrating. It was a good trip aside from that though. The picture above was taken at the Roman Baths. You get the idea of how big the belly is getting.
Today I haven't quite felt oh so fantastic due to getting up early, funny eating habits, etc that comes along with travel. Oh, and did you have to see the weight gain??? Yeah... having some personal issues with that. But as long as Mr CCS is happy and healthy, that's all that matters.
We're having a little BOY! I know, I've been slacking and keeping you in suspense. I have to admit, I rather enjoyed keeping it a secret and you guys dying to know! We went out and bought some little boy stuff on Saturday, all on sale, of course. But as for the name, I shall keep you in suspense a little bit longer if I haven't already told you personally. ;)
